It began in a dream from an ancestor…

My late grandfather Lynn Charles.

During the pandemic lockdown in 2020, I picked up a paintbrush to quell my anxiety about the unknown the world was facing.

A few nights later, my grandfather came calling. Lynn was a master cartoonist and artist. In this dream, he showed me the techniques I now use in my work and how important it was for me to keep painting. I listened.

Over a year later, another one of my ancestors came to me in a dream. My great aunt Rosanne, who was also a master artist—spoke of working together on the painting you see here. I dedicate “Flowers of Red” to Rosanne, honoring her zest for life and nature.

To have my work published in American Art Collector Magazine is an honor.
