FAQ

  • What media is used to create your work?

Mostly acrylic, vulnerability, love, grief, passion, and a variety of mixed media! The rest is my trade secret.

  • Do you sell prints of your art?

Not at this time. With the level of detail and texture in my work, a print would really take away from the quality of the piece. However, home wallpaper is in the Ingrid McIntire Art future! Stay tuned.

  • When will my purchase be shipped?

I will always do my best to ship your order promptly. Please keep in mind I am a one-woman show, and choose to honor my work/life balance. If any additional delays arise, I will communicate that to you via email as soon as possible.

  • Why does a commissioned work cost more than a painting available in your shop?

Commissions cost more to compensate me for my time. When I am creating a custom piece, it takes away time from other works I’m in the process of. I also believe in and stand for making a living wage to support myself in what I love to do as an artist.

  • Will my shipping cost be high?

With rising costs due to inflation, shipping costs have also risen significantly in the last year. I do not mark up my shipping costs; you are paying exactly what the shipping carrier charges. I want your painting to be transported and arrive safely at your home. I can promise you it’s well worth it.

  • Why won't you make the same painting twice?

All of my original paintings are special, unique, and one-of-a-kind. If you want to commission a work that looks like something I have already created— the elements, colors, background, composition, etc will be different from one that has already been made. I do this on purpose so that no one else will have the same piece that you have consciously selected for your home. Think of my work as an engaging story. You don’t want to hear that same story too much, or it becomes stale and boring. Stale and boring are not words that live in the world of Ingrid!

  • How do I care for my Ingrid McIntire original?

NO DIRECT SUNLIGHT. Placing your painting on a wall that gets direct sunlight will make the colors fade. On a piece that is not hand-sewn, you can use a DRY, unused microfiber cloth to go over the piece to dust it lightly.

  • What will my painting be shipped in?

I recycle most of my packing materials by reusing boxes from a local art supply store. I’m also deeply conscious of the impact packing materials have on Mother Earth. Your painting will arrive in a box and packed with great care.

  • Will you always have paintings available in your shop?

Not always. All my work is one-of-a-kind and takes anywhere from 40-300 hours to complete. No detail is left unattended. Because of this process, the turnaround time is not fast. I also believe strongly in honoring my work/life balance by doing what I love as an artist. I will do my best to keep my collectors updated with upcoming launch dates, etc.

  • I would like a commission done, how do I get on the list for that?

Two commissions are the maximum I will take on at a time. Otherwise, I cannot continue creating other works to have on offer. Feel free to send me an email at hello@ingridmcintireart.com to be put on the waitlist.

  • Do you sell frames for your work?

Not at this time. Currently, all paintings come unframed. However, I plan on adding an option to have your Ingrid McIntire original framed in the future. In the meantime— I am very picky about making sure the edges of the canvas are painted with the same amount of layers as the rest of the piece to make it look uniform and aesthetically pleasing. I also do this so that you can enjoy the art by itself without feeling like it must be framed to fit well with the decor or aesthetic of your home.

  • Why are you only on Facebook, and not other social media platforms?

The short answer; it’s too much to manage and post on multiple platforms. I would rather spend my time creating beautiful works for your space!
